Chris Hayes Discussed Domestic Violence with Young Students

November 23, 2018

As a White Ribbon Day Ambassador and as part of White Ribbon Day, Fowler MP, Chris Hayes, spoke to more than 1,000 students and teachers at Prairiewood High School.

Organised by the Student Leadership Team, Prairiewood High School held a White Ribbon Assembly where Chris was the guest speaker.

“The students chose a video and poem that spoke volumes about domestic violence.”

“It was very powerful and heartening to see these young people talking about this disturbing subject, but as a White Ribbon Ambassador, and as a father and grandfather, we must start the conversation as early as possible.”

“Congratulations to the Student Leadership Team for taking this initiative.”

“And thank you to Principal, Belinda Giudice and the students and teachers of Prairiewood High School.”

“Although it is a distasteful subject, we must not bury our heads in the sand.”

“When it comes to violence against women, the message is clear, never commit, never excuse, and never be silent.  It is up to us if we are to break the cycle of violence,” Chris Hayes said.
