Growing Older is a Privilege – NSW Seniors’ Week

April 01, 2016

"These days ageing doesn’t mean you’re too old to become involved in any type of physical activity."

So says Federal Member for Fowler, Chris Hayes.

"Growing older is a privilege and our aged should be celebrated."

"We are all living a much healthier, active life and our local community has plenty to offer, particularly during Seniors’ Week."

Seniors Week will be held from 1-10 April 2016 and local Councils and community centres can provide information on local activities.

"Older Australians have a wealth of knowledge and wisdom and I would encourage everyone to consider taking up just one extra activity a week or even consider volunteering, which is a great way to give back to our community."

"But it shouldn’t just be during this week that we choose to become active and involved, make it a lifestyle choice and embrace the diversity of our community," Chris Hayes said.
